오늘 큰 아이 기말고사가 끝났습니다.
근데 영어 문제에 다음 문제가 나왔는데 답이 적절하지 않은 것 같아 아이가 선생님께 어필했더니 그냥 가라고 했답니다.

In our science class yesterday, we drew pictures of things we can imagine in the future. They were very interesting. They will be able to make our life in the future more comfortable. We will need on-ly on-e set of clothes in the future. These smart clothes will be albe to change for us anytime we want. For example, if it is cold, they will become thick and keep us warm.

무엇이 답일까요?
정답은 (2)번이래요.
근데 본문에서 science의 의미는 미래 신기술에 관한 얘기잖아요. 그럼 미래 과학이란 무엇인지가 정답이 되어야 하지 않을까요?
영어에서 어떤 단어의 의미는 사전적 의미도 중요하지만 구문에서 내포하는 의미를 이해하는 것이 중요하다고 생각하는데 .... 제 생각이 틀렸나요?
사전을 찾아보면 다음과 같이 찾을 수 있어요.

이상의 내용과 문제를 연결해서 풀어보면 어떻게 답이 (2)번이 될 수 있는지 이해할 수 없어요.
선생님이 말한 답 (2)는 철학의 범주에 들어가야 하지 않나요?
과학이 철학속에 포함된다 하더라도 그렇게 되면 (3)번도 수학이니까 철학의 범주에 들어갈 거고 (4)번도 답이 될수 있을 것 같아요.
그래서 제 아이가 답이 모호한 문제가 된 것 같아 선생님께 말씀드렸더니 절대 다른 것은 답이 될 수 없대요.
영어의 고수분들 현명한 답변을 부탁해요.
그리고 선생님께 어떻게 말씀드려야 아이가 얘기한 내용을 이해시켜드릴 수 있을까요?
