"This villa, which we bought in 1988, was designed by Belgian architect André Jacqmain," says owner José María Solanes. "It was designed to make the most of the sunlight. Given its layout and position, one enjoys 180-degrees of sea views. It is positioned so one can enjoy the sunset every single day of the year."

"The style is Mediterranean with a Marrakesh feel to it in terms of bright colors," adds Mr. Solanes. "The arches, built about a meter from the main walls of the house, act as protection from the strong sunlight during the summer months. A current of air goes through between the arches and the wall, which makes for pleasant weather even when the sun is burning."

The main house includes three bedrooms, a living room with a grand piano, a maid's room and a large kitchen with access to the swimming pool and terrace. It also has extensive gardens.

The 3,500-square-foot house, a short walk from the beach, was designed to provide sea views from almost every room.

The main bedroom comes with a large, canopied bed and two marble bedside tables.

The kitchen has two large ovens, a double sink and big dining table.

The house is in the Calo d'en Real development on the west coast of Ibiza. It is listed with Sotheby's International Realty at ¢æ6.8 million ($8.8 million).
