"I totally modernized it," said owner Amanda Eliasch. "It's got the best of both worlds. I opened up the drawing room and took out the lift because it was taking up too much room of the house."

Ms. Eliasch replicated that new-old aesthetic when decorating the home. "Interior designer Nicky Haslam thinks this is the most romantic house in Chelsea," she added.

"The house has fantastic views over the Albert Bridge," Mr. Eliasch said. The ground and first floors of the 3,304-square-foot house include the drawing, dining and reception rooms, as well as a kitchen and study.

There are five bedrooms. Taking up the whole of the second floor, the master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and dressing room. Three further bedrooms are located on the third floor, with a fifth on the lower-ground floor with the laundry room.

The home is located on Cheyne Walk in Chelsea, not far from the King's Road.

The property, which has a 58-foot back garden, is listed with Aylesford International for £9.25 million ($14.2 million)
