The home underwent a radical transformation, though it was relatively easy as "it is all modular," Ms. Dimascio explains. "It involved removing all of the downstairs bedroom and bathroom and relocating the kitchen from the front of the house to the rear the old kitchen is now the study," she says

Before the refurbishment, Ms. Dimascio says, the 2,589-square-foot house "was a series of unconnected rooms and obviously one of the attractions of a Huf Haus is open-plan living." The new layout makes the house flow.

"It is a beautiful, peaceful, semirural location with several prestigious houses which I used to drive through and think 'I would like to live there,'" says Ms. Dimascio. She has added a heated swimming pool and a double carport.

The house has four en-suite bedrooms and three reception rooms. There is also a separate one-bedroom annex.

This house is in Tubney, 4 miles outside the university town of Oxford, with good transport links to both Oxford and London. It is listed with John D Wood & Co. at £1.6 million ($2.5 million).
