"You have the city at your feet," says owner Javier Roca. "From here you can see the Sagrada Familia (Antoni Gaudi's unfinished basilica), the city's buildings, the beach," Mr. Roca adds. "You can see planes circling around the ocean and turning back and you see them landing at the airport."

Built at the turn of the 20th century, the villa boasts period features, including stone staircases, high ceilings with moldings and original floors.

One of the striking features of the house is how big it is, Mr. Roca says of the 9,149 square-foot villa, which has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. "It is also surrounded by a garden which gives you privacy. Comfort is really important. It is easily accessible and it has two garages and an elevator."

Three-meter tall windows can be found throughout the home, which also has a library, study, service quarters, terraces and a pool.

Located just 10 minutes from the Barcelona's city center, the villa is located on the exclusive Tibidado Avenue, with easy access to a metro stop and buses. The city's only tram goes along the avenue all the way to the cable car that takes visitors up to the Temple de Sagrat Cor on Tbidado mountain, within Collserola Park.

The house is listed with Lucas Fox at ¢æ5.9 million ($7.7 million).
