Price: $5,700,000 Location: Phang Nga, Thailand Type of Home: Waterfront

This seven-bedroom villa on a quiet beach in Thailand near James Bond Island has four pavilions, a lush tropical garden and a black pool.

Set on a pristine beach in southern Thailand, this modern villa combines Thai architecture with simple design. Louisa Wong, a headhunter from Hong Kong, purchased the land in 2004. 'I started building right after the tsunami. It was completed two years later,' she said.

Surrounding the pool are four pavilions: one for living and dining, a master bedroom, a spa and a maid's quarters. There are seven bedrooms (including the games room) and eight bathrooms, excluding the maid's quarters.

Floor-to-ceiling glass-sliding doors, Canadian-cedar ceilings and Burmese-teak floors are found throughout the pavilions. Ms. Wong said she wanted it to 'fit into the natural environment and be easy to maintain.'

Located just north of Phuket, the home sits on Natai Beach in the province of Phang Nga. It is a quiet and family-friendly area that is 12 miles from Phuket International Airport. 'Phang Nga has the most beautiful bay—where the famous James Bond Island is,' Ms. Wong said.

The living and dining pavilion can be opened up on both sides for ventilation. It is decorated with silk curtains and cushions, a large rug from Istanbul and local, custom-made furniture. Seashells were added for a touch of the sea.

A lily pond at the villa's entrance was built to attract good feng shui

There is a main kitchen for what Ms. Wong calls 'serious cooking' in the maid's pavilion, and an open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar in the living and dining pavilion 'for hanging out,' pictured here.

The wine cellar, located in the living and dining pavilion, can hold 200 bottles.

Each of the guest bedrooms have two balconies, one on either side of the villa. The front balconies face the Andaman Sea, and the ones at the back overlook a coconut plantation.

The master bedroom pavilion, which opens onto the pool through sliding-glass doors, is shown here. The paintings on the wall are from places in Southeast Asia that the owner has visited.

The master bathroom has marble countertops and bamboo blinds. 'I positioned it in such a way that I can sit in the bathtub and watch the sunset,' Ms. Wong said.

One of the bedrooms that Ms. Wong uses as a study and office faces a lush garden with birds-of-paradise flowers, frangipani trees and red palms.

The spa pavilion has a steam room, a massage room, a gym and a game room.

Because of the ocean blues, Ms. Wong settled on a black swimming pool for a more 'elegant' touch. One of the problems with the pool however, she said, is that it can get hot, making evening swims more desirable.

'I built it for building good memories with friends and family, and for lots of celebrations,' said Ms. Wong, who owns a second vacation residence in Italy.

Ms. Wong said that she is selling because as she gets older, she doesn't visit as often. 'If I had a husband and family, I would probably retire there, but on my own, it could get a bit lonely.'

The property was listed in December 2012 for 175 million baht ($5.7 million). Indigo Real Estate Phuket agent Nick Anthony has the listing.
